Thousands raised for Taranaki Cancer Society by runners braving the wild Taranaki weather
Keen runners braved a wet and windy Taranaki morning to raise $10,000 for a cancer charity. The second Cape Egmont Half-Marathon saw more than 280 runners race from Oxford Rd in Okato to Anglers Ave in Warea on Sunday. The half-marathon was started last year by Nicky Smith and a group of friends as a way to celebrate the life of one of her best friends, Andrew Smith, who died of a brain tumour on Christmas Eve 2016.

Marathon 2018
GYMSTICKS have proven to be very beneficial for improving muscle strength and balance, joint stability, coordination and postural awareness. They also add variety to traditional types of exercises. We've donated 15 gymsticks to the Taranaki Cancer Society for their clients to use. Exercise plays a key role in mental and physical recovery for cancer survivors. Contact the Taranaki Cancer Society for more information or to join a class. PH: (06) 7573006
