Keen runners braved a wet and windy Taranaki morning to raise $10,000 for a cancer charity.

The second Cape Egmont Half-Marathon saw more than 280 runners race from Oxford Rd in Okato to Anglers Ave in Warea on Sunday.

The half-marathon was started last year by Nicky Smith and a group of friends as a way to celebrate the life of one of her best friends, Andrew Smith, who died of a brain tumour on Christmas Eve 2016.
