Chris Lines - Winner of the 2025 Cape Egmont Half Marathon

I was fortunate enough to be in the region for the weekend which gave me the opportunity to race the Cape Egmont Half.
It was fantastic to see the event so well supported by the local community and I felt everything about the event had a great community feel to it; something that some events struggle with. It was great to be able to support the Taranaki Cancer Society - a great cause.
Not sure many people describe a road half marathon course as being "fun", but I certainly enjoyed flying down the hill towards the lighthouse. Free speed!
Already considering making plans to be in Taranaki for next year's event!

Race Information
Online entries close Thursday 10th July at midnight.

Race pack pick up - Saturday 12th July at Shoe Clinic New Plymouth 87 Devon Street East, New Plymouth from 12.00pm - 3.00 pm. We will be taking late entries via paper registration, eftpos available.

Race Day Headquarters - Coastal Taranaki School 92 Carthew Street Okato - doors open from 6.30 am. Runners/Team Runners start at 8.00am, Walkers/Team Walkers 8.05am

Gear drop off available - pick up at the finishing tent.

There are three water stations along the run route and portaloos at the team changeover on Newall Road.

Cape Egmont Boat Club (Inc) will have food and hot drinks available to purchase.

VIBE Container/Van will be able to keep you caffeinated.

Withers Coachlines will be providing transport for participants back to the start - Okato. The coach will be located withing the boat club grounds and leave once the vehicle is full. A donation would be appreciated and will be given to our two chosen charities.

All finishing competitors go in the draw to win spot prizes

Major spot prize and Cape Egmont Half Marathon after party at Butlers Reef from 3.30 pm. Blistered Fingers playing, spot prize draw at 5.00pm. You have to be present to be in to win one of our great prizes.

To enter both participants must fill out their own registration form. Once the first team member has completed the entry process - please select "Add another participant" so your second team member can complete theirs.
